The Latin Quarter is the kind of neighborhood that rewards wandering. Narrow streets, independent bookshops, unexpected courtyards. It’s been home to students, artists, and thinkers for centuries — and now, it’s home to us too.

If you’re visiting (or just rediscovering your own city), here’s how we’d spend a slow morning in the 5th arrondissement.

Start at our place. A Béné Saumon and a flat white is a strong opening move. Sit by the window if you can — rue Galande has character.

After brunch, walk down to Shakespeare and Company. It’s just a few minutes away and it’s still one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. Pick up something you wouldn’t normally read.

Cross over to the Seine and walk along the water. If it’s a Sunday, the bouquinistes will be out with their green boxes of old prints and vintage paperbacks.

Circle back through the side streets. Stop for a coffee if you need a second one — we won’t judge, or come back to us for a matcha latte. End up at the Jardin du Luxembourg if the weather’s kind.

That’s it. No rush. No itinerary. Just a good morning in a great part of Paris.
